I am so excited to talk to you about this new line I just got hip to over the holidays. You guys, this one's a keeper! For real! It's called Pura Body Naturals. The products are made with ingredients from the Amazon Rain forest......
I know, right? It's true! My favorite product from this line is none other than the Cupuacu Hair Butter in the scent Tahitian Vanilla. Cupuacu is a fruit bearing tree in the Rain forest that is very high in B Vitamins, Antioxidants, and Amino Acids. Yes, this is good information if you're going to eat the fruit, but these same facts are great for hair as well.
This butter is the truth! Hands down, out of all the products I have in my personal stash, I did not have a butter like this. I have butters that are whipped and moist, butters that are thick and heavy; this butter is neither. It's dry, but smooth. It's a butter that melts in your hands and on your hair. So to me, it seems quite penetrable. I tried to capture what I'm talking about...
At the end of the post, I will show you pics of the definition I got with this butter. It's right on time. And very soft. I really have to thank Melena Sherrill, host of Curlytalk, for turning me on to this line. She had this butter, along with the accompanying hair lotion, as samples in her swag bags. Good job, girl! Here is a pic of the Hair lotion sample.
This is called Sapote Hair Lotion (in Lemon Grass scent). I'm still on the fence about this lotion. It's very light. I hate the scent of Lemon Grass, but other scents are available so that's not a problem. I'm not entirely sure what to do with. Currently, I've been using it underneath the Hair Butter as a leave-in. It says on the bottle that it's a leave-in. Idk. I like my leave-in conditioners to give slip for detangling, and I'm not sure this did it. But, I think it would make a great refresher or hair milk. Sapote means soft, edible fruit, also indigenous to South America. And this line offers Sapote oil that is extremely costly! I think I want give that a try in lieu of this lotion.
But a close second favorite of mine from this line HAS to be the Chocolate Smoothie!!!!! OMGGGGGEEEEE!
Chocolate. How do I love thee, let me count the ways......
Where do I even start. Of course it smells delicious. It smells like chocolate! I would have preferred for it to be thicker like chocolate. But it was cool. It was the consistency of conditioner. It had nice slip. At least it did after I sat under a heated bonnet dryer. I'll try it again as an overnight deep conditioning treatment and see if I get the same results. I've been looking for a good, natural, deep conditioner that is affordable. And I think this might be it. I was very pleased.
So check out my results for yourself. Here are my before and afters.
And the second day hair was even cuter. I just pulled my hair back into a low ponytail, put a satin scarf on, and went to bed. The next day, after everything was taken down, my hair was hanging longer and still defined.
So these were just a few of my new favorite things. I'm happy to share with you that I will be carrying these items in All Things Curly very soon! I have gotten the OK from the owner! The price range of this line is between $14-16 each. There is also an oil for $9, and a hair treatment for $8.50. That treatment will definitely warrant a post of its own!
So I will let you know when it gets here. I know you'll love them as much as I do!
Until next time,
Stay Gorgeous!
