Fierce!

She definitely makes Gorgeous of The Week.

She could be someone you know, or you don't. She could be you! And on every Tuesday night, I'll pick the flyest of the bunch to showcase for the week.

Obia Natural Haircare

Hi Gorgeous!

So remember when I showed you pics of the products I got at this years World Natural Hair Health and Beauty Show in Atlanta, GA? Well, I've been using Obia Natural Hair care for the past few days, and I really like it!

Curl Hydration Spray- Infused with Argon Oil, Rose Oil, and Vitamin E
  •  I used this spray as a leave-in conditioner and refresher. It's nice. I like that I'm using Rose Oil, which I've always wanted to try. And Argon oil is a hot ingredient right now. This spray is so multi-purpose that it could quickly become a staple product.
Curl Moisture Cream- Infused with Argon Oil, Lavender Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Vitamin E, and Burdock Root
  •  This is pure HYDRATION. There is literally no other word to describe it. It's so whipped, light, and airy. I've never felt anything so light. Your hair instantly absorbs this. The creator (who is a chemist) definitely got it right when she created this product.
Curl Enhancing Custard- Infused with Argon Oil, Grapeseed Oil, and Olive Oil
  •  This is a gel. I've never really been a gel person. I mean, they are great for setting the hair, but they really don't offer much in the way of moisture. I guess that's why the creator infused such great oils into it. It gave my hair a soft, touchable hold with a lot of definition.

I received  A LOT of compliments on this hair. And really, if you've followed me for any length of time, you know that my hairstyles are generally the same. But this tells me that these set of products can be a useful and suitable regimen building set. If you're not a product junkie, like I am, and you just want a set of products that you can stick with and perform any style, these products are definitely worth your consideration. And when you need to re-hydrate  you can spray the mist or apply the cream . It's light enough not to mess up your hairstyle.

These are so new that I'm not going to even ask if you've tried them. (But if you have, inquiring minds want to know!) But I will ask, if you want these products offered in All Things Curly? I'd love to reach out to them. They have already been featured in major press like Essence Magazine. And Afrobella has deemed this company one to watch!

If I get enough inquiries, I'll reach out!

I have no idea who this beautiful lady is. But somebody needs to do my hair like this or send me a YouTube video on this hairstyle!

Beautiful!

She definitely makes Gorgeous of The Week.

Review! Beija Flor Naturals!

Hi Gorgeous!

Recently I was sent some products to try in hopes of possibly carrying them in All Things Curly. I was told that there were many of you who were requesting a local place to purchase these products, so I was contacted. Wow! I'm excited and impressed at the same time.

Let me just say that I am somewhat familiar with Beija Flor Naturals products. I had been given the opportunity to try their Creme Brulee for Kinks, Curls, and Coils Moisturizer, and the smell alone is reason enough to try it. It's so yummy. If the wind hits your hair, you will feel like you've stepped into a bakery. Beyond that, I couldn't really remember what I thought of their products except it was pretty expensive to buy once you tacked on shipping. These products come from California, so you know what it is!

I was given two hair products and a face product. Beija Flor actually has more body products than hair products. I think both are equally fabulous and innovative.

But today we will focus on the hair products I was given.

Licorice Root Scalp Elixer, 4oz
Creme Brulee for Kinks, Curls and Coils, 8oz

The Licorice Root came as a solid because it was cooler temps when I received it. But it quickly liquefied in warmer temps. If you ever have a product that does this, you can nuke it in warm water to make it liquid again. Some oils in product solidify in cool environments.

The Licorice Root made a great pre-poo as it gave your scalp a nice cooling sensation. I would be careful with the application thought. It comes with a spout, but it's very runny and it ran down my face and neck a couple of times before I could massage it in my scalp. And make sure to give it a good shake so you can benefit from all the wonderful ingredients such as Rosemary, Burdock, Neem, Peppermint, and Brazilian Babassu.

The Creme Brulee is THICK. Take a look.

I'm still working with this to see how best to use it (If you have tips, please post in the comments!). My first attempt was a bantu knot-out. Well, it already takes my hair a long time to dry. This product holds moisture extremely well, so it took even longer to dry. So I won't show you the outcome because it was still very wet. But I will show you the prep work.

As for this style, I'll try it again later

So I know this review is kind of incomplete. And my verdict is still out on this. But I would like to know what you think about these products. Have you tried them? Would you like to have them available to you via All Things Curly!

Sound off!

Review! Noire Naturals!

Hi Gorgeous!

I am ever on the look out for the new and innovative hair care products to bring to you. And recently, I purchased a sample set of Noire Naturals hair care products.

A little background on these products:

The owner is a 22 year old Kansas City Native student and entrepreneur. Wow!
Each of the products are:

  • Paraben free
  • Sulfate free
  • Alcohol free
  • Glycerin free
  • Mineral Oil free
  • Petroleum free
  • USDA Certified Organic
  • Free of artificial colors and fragrances

The line-up!

Oh Là Là Hair Cleansing ElixirA gentle olive oil-based cleanser, free of sulfates and filled with powerful purifiers and moisturizers for a cleansing experience like no other!

C'est Magnifique Rinse-or-Remain Conditioner: Finally, a silicone-free conditioner that is packed with all of the oils and butters that your hair and scalp crave!

J'adore Curl-Defining Jelly: No flakes or crunch—just shiny, defined curls! Perfect for twist-outs and wash-and-go's!

My Thoughts!

This line took me completely by surprise. Now, I had seen a couple of reviews on these products. Particularly Baby Big Hair's review. But it still didn't really dawn on me that these products are so liquid-based. Again, see Baby Big Hairs review to see pics of the consistency of the products.

The cleanser is completely liquid with a very low lather being sulfate-free. You kind of have to guess at first how much to use. It did clean my hair without stripping it. I was surprised that it cleaned, but not surprised that it didn't strip my hair, and for the same reason. It's chocked full of oils. This fact also made it extremely easy to detangle my hair! The smell is kind of herbal. Over all, I like it!

The conditioner, for me, was best used as a leave-in conditioner. It didn't provide any slip, which is a requirement for me for a rinse-out conditioner.

The Jelly is really not a gel. It's liquid also. Even though it is primary flaxseed gel (which is awesome btw), it really felt like putting water on my hair. I mean seriously, I'm used to my hair feeling like product is on it while I'm styling. But who could argue with these results?

The definition is great. There's volume, body, and movement. I think the creator might be on to something.

The steps to creating this style:

That's it really. Simple. I think if you are looking for a good simple regimen, this line can deliver. I only suggest that they create a daily moisturizer, which I think I read somewhere that they are. Being that the styler is "gel-based", you need a way to keep your hair moisturized.

Second day hair wasn't bad either.

So have you tried Noire Naturals? Would you like for us to offer these products to you? Leave your comments below!

Stay Gorgeous!
